Restockify or as you may’ve seen on the Shopify app store with the title “Back in stock: Out of stock” is coming to an end. We’ve loved the time we spent on the Shopify app store and how we’ve helped thousands of merchants bring their A-game to eCommerce.
We are gonna go over a little bit of the history of the app, the processes we had, and why we are closing Restockify forever. If you want to read more about the reasons for this and what’s in store, feel free to skip to this part.
History and Roadmap:
We started developing Restockify in January 2021 as we were looking to create solutions for eCommerce stores that could help them automate some of their tasks.
Fast forward to October 2021 and then our app was live on the Shopify app store!
Upon launch, we decided to put the app to use for free to improve our app with valuable feedback from exquisite Shopify stores that were using it and needed little bits of tweaks and extra utilities in order to bring the best experience and recover the most revenue from their out of stock products.
How it worked:
Restockify had a pretty straightforward function. How it worked was pretty simple:
- You have a product that people love and run out fast
- When the product is not available, you can collect their contacts
- Once the product is available, they’ll get a notification to buy the product
The overall app flow seemed like quick automation, but there was lots of configuration and implementation stuff we needed to take care of in Shopify and our other services.
Once that was done, we added features that were requested by other Shopify stores like yourself, some include:
- Adding SMS to back-in-stock notification channels
- Integrations with other popular apps like Mailchimp, Omnisend, Klaviyo, Shopify contacts, and more
- GDPR-ready app for our European merchants and those selling to EU
- Multi-inventory selection for those with numerous inventories
- And so much more
After adding all the features and utilities, the next version of the app was released for all Shopify merchants with great plans for everyone.
Crunching the numbers:
In the 15 months, we were live on the Shopify app store, we had the pleasure of providing the best service to thousands of Shopify stores like yours. As a result, we got a whopping 156 five-star reviews in less than 2 years of being on the app store.
We recovered millions in revenue for Shopify stores that otherwise would’ve been lost.
The number of notifications sent was more than 1 Million emails and 50,000 text messages. We’ve also made over $5.5 Million in revenue for stores from more than 50,000 orders.
We also had Shopify stores from 110 countries using our app in 45 languages around the world.
Closing Down
Goodbyes are always hard and this is no exception. We’ve decided to discontinue the development and support of our app on 31 March 2023.
We always aspired to create the best plan and experience for the merchant on Restockify.
However, there is so much you can do with limited resources, That’s why we’ve teamed up with Hengam and we’re moving everyone to Notify Me! - Display of “Notify me” widget on collection/homepage
- Hidden widgets on specific products
- And more
- GDPR settings for EU stores and stores selling to EU
- Multi-location settings for inventory
- Email designs
- And everything else
Will be packaged and sent to Hengam’s app and will be there in 15 minutes.
If you were a paying user of our app, the remaining days of your plans will be refunded to you As soon as you request it. To learn more about how app refunds work in Shopify, refer to this official documentation from Shopify.
Using both of our 24/7 support, the process usually takes less than 15 minutes and then everything is the same as before.
Keep in mind that if you were using one of our paid plans, you should upgrade to a similar plan in the “Notify me” app to be able to use the app to the fullest extent.
You can use the refunded app credits to do this.

Our app will cease all existing operations on Mar 31, 2023, Please migrate to Notify me! to have a seamless workflow without feeling anything changing.
